Renault Megane II won the European title of “Car of the Year 2003″ based on the decision of a jury consisting of 58 automotive journalists from 22 European countries. Megane II collects the value of 322 points, better than the Mazda6 (302 points) and Citroen C3 (214 points).

Information Summary
It’s the fifth time that Renault won this highest award. Another model is the Renault 16 (1966), Renault 9 (1982), Renault Clio (1991) and Renault Megane Scenic (1997).
The jury praised the Megane II, the expressive design but in its segment tends to be conventional. The jury also admired the quality ride and control as well as passive safety systems. Renault Megane II claimed to be able to provide the best protection class.
Megane II was launched October 11 and is marketed in Western Europe from late November 2002. Renault target to sell 250,000 Megane II Hatch and Sport Hatch in 2003.
