At first, Camry originated from the Celica Camry which is an expensive version of the Toyota Carina. This car is only sold in Japan from 1980 to 1982.
In the beginning, Camry is made in the form of 4-door sedan and 5 door Liftback. Camry engine is a 1800 cc and 2000 cc petrol, and 2000 cc diesel. In America, the Camry trim levels are offered in Standard and LE.
Now, Camry increasingly large and luxurious. 2400 cc engine still available, plus a new 3500 cc engine V6 Dual VVT-i, and the 2400 cc engine with Hybrid. In Australia, the Camry is sold only with a 2400 cc engine, due to large engine segment, 3500 cc, Toyota began marketing the really new model, Aurion.
